Lafayette-based Brown Civil Engineering, local general Civil Engineering provider, is proud to announce Xylina Warren-Laird (Civil Engineer) and Rafael Castro (Sr. Civil Designer) recently received certifications from CDOT and Keep it Clean Partnership for Erosion Control Supervisor Training.


The classes for Erosion Control Supervisor included proper installation, maintenance, and inspection of Best Management Practices (BMPs) used to control erosion and sedimentation at construction sites.  BMPs prevent or reduce the pollutants in stormwater discharges from the construction site.  The program covered stormwater legal requirements including permitting and stormwater management plans (SWMPs).

Ms. Warren-Laird also received a certificate for Best Management Practices for Construction in Waterways.
Mr. Castro also received a certificate for Urban Flood Control Channel Design and Open Channel Hydraulic Analysis.
